Jr. Chorus Auditions and Details
Calling all 4th - 8th graders! We are inviting you to join us for Legacy's production of The Little Mermaid. Details are listed below!
Auditions - Monday, 11/9/26
Auditions for the Jr. Chorus for The Little Mermaid will be held on Monday, November 9th in the Legacy Auditorium.

4th - 5th grade auditions will be held from 4:30 - 5:30 pm

6th - 8th grade auditions will be held from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Legacy Auditorium - 2701 W 136th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80023
Please park and walk in through the West Entrance (large parking lot close to the tennis courts/softball fields along 136th Ave)
WHAT TO PREPARE:

Prior to the audition, please fill out this audition form to give us more information about your student

Please have a teacher or coach (who is not a direct relative) fill out this brief recommendation form for the student

Prepare a brief portion of "Under the Sea" from the words, "The ray he can play" all the way to "And oh that blowfish blow." You can practice with this track here (start at 2:00)

Bring a printed headshot of the student with their name so the directors can refer back to them during casting. Does not have to be anything fancy, just a clear photo of the student from the shoulders up (think school photo)
WHAT TO EXPECT:
At the audition, students will be divided into three groups and will rotate through three separate rooms to work with three of our directors. In one room, you will sing through your prepared portion of "Under the Sea" starting in a big group and progressively getting into smaller groups. In the second room, you will be taught a small portion of another song from The Little Mermaid and sing it in groups. Finally, in the third room you will be taught a small portion of choreography and asked to perform. We are not looking for perfection! We just want an idea on how hard you work, how well you learn and take direction, and how you move on stage.
We are looking to cast around 25 student performers. Casting decisions will be announced by end of day Friday, November 13th at the latest.
Rehearsals / Performances
If selected for the Jr. Chorus, rehearsals will start the week of January 5th (when Adams 12 returns from Winter Break). A parent informational meeting will be held before rehearsals begin to go over schedule and expectations.
Jr. Chorus Rehearsals

Every Wednesday/Thursday starting on January 6th from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

The week of March 8th - 12th is Dress Week which will have a different, longer schedule as we practice in costume doing full runs of the show. This schedule will be finalized and announced on this webpage soon

Similarly, Monday, March 15th and Tuesday, March 16th (last two dress rehearsals before performances) will also be required rehearsals
Performances

Legacy's The Little Mermaid will be performed every night from Wednesday, March 17th through Saturday, March 20th.

Call time for students will be 5:00 PM, show starts at 6:30 PM

Post-Spring Break Celebration Details will be announced later
Cost
The cost for students to participate in this production will be $120. This will allow us to cover student costumes, student t-shirts/posters/playbills for the performances, provided food on certain nights, and more. Scholarships and financial aid may be available upon request.
